Did you know you can make curtains out of bed sheets?  At Comfortercozy.com, we call them curtain sheets.  Curtain sheets are  easy to make.  You can create a stunning look at a fraction of the cost by using curtain sheets. It's very simple to make curtain sheets.  Here's how to create curtain sheets with minimal sewing:

  1. Measurements:  Gathered curtains are usually 1.5 to 2.0 times wider than window.  Most windows require two twin sheets.  Twin sheets are 66" x 96", Full sheets 66" x 102", Queen sheets 90" x 102", King sheets 108" x 102".
  2. Gather sheets and sewing supplies.
  3. Using a seam ripper, open "just" the side seams of hem at top of each sheet.  Most hems are about 4 inches wide.
  4. Measure width of your curtain rod.  Add width plus a 1/4 inch for movement within a rod pocket.
  5. Make a rod pocket.  Make a straight horizontal stitch above the hemline of the sheet, accommodating for width of curtain rod.  The remaining fabric at top of the sheet will become the ruffle.
  6. Iron  sheets.
  7. Slide the rods into the pockets and hang curtains. That's all there is to it.  Isn't that simple.
